The Emergency Department team at TRMC is committed to offering the highest quality of emergency care to both adult and pediatric patients. Last month, doctors, nurses, and technicians attended the 4th Annual Pediatric Preparedness Seminar hosted at the Telluride Science and Innovation Center, where they participated in educational activities and networking events with other hospitals and EMS providers in the state. The seminar initiated the process of working to obtain their Colorado Pediatric Preparedness for the Emergency Room (COPPER) certification.
The COPPER certification was developed by EMS for Children Colorado in collaboration with several statewide partners, including the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Participation in this voluntary program demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care in pediatric emergencies.
In addition to bolstering resources and support within the emergency department for pediatric patients and their families, the emergency team at TRMC will also be providing outreach education every month as part of these newsletters. Stay tuned for updates and education from the ER!
