What to Know Before Scheduling a Lab Visit

At Telluride Regional Medical Center (TMC), our laboratory team is committed to providing timely, accurate testing while making the process as smooth as possible for our patients. To help you plan your visit, here are a few important things to know before scheduling your lab appointment.

Lab appointments at TMC are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend scheduling your lab visit at least three business days in advance whenever possible. This allows our team to best prepare for your specific testing needs. While we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests, availability may be limited depending on the nature of the appointment.

Certain procedures must be performed during specific times of the day. When you schedule your appointment, our staff will let you know if your appointment type has any timing requirements so you can plan accordingly.

At the time of scheduling, you will receive detailed instructions for your lab visit. This includes information about any fasting or preparation requirements that may be necessary for your particular appointment. Following these instructions helps ensure accurate results and prevent delays.

All lab collctions require valid orders. If your provider is outside of TMC, it is the patient’s responsibility to ensure that the complete and correct lab order is sent to TMC prior to scheduling your appointment. Having orders on file ahead of time helps us provide efficient care on the day of your visit.

Pre-registration paperwork is still required for all lab visits. Completing your online check-in before arriving at the clinic helps streamline your visit and allows our team to see you as promptly as possible.

We appreciate your partnership in helping us deliver high-quality care to our community. If you have questions about scheduling or preparing for a lab visit, our team is happy to help. Give us a call at 970-728-3848 to schedule your lab visit today.
