Emergency and Trauma Nursing, Board Certified

As a freshman at Villanova University, Melissa took a career assessment test that pointed her towards nursing — a profession she had never before considered, despite a lifelong fascination with the human body, health, wellness and physiology. Melissa changed majors from biology to nursing and has never looked back. After getting her start in nursing in Labor and Delivery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Melissa made the big move west where she continues to thrive in the field.

In both her role as ED Nurse Manager, Trauma Program Manager and as a board member of the Western Regional EMS and Trauma Council, Melissa makes incredible efforts to create training and continued educational opportunities for the staff at the Med Center as well as other nurses in our region.

“This is the optimal place to be. There’s an incredible sense of family here at the Med Center and it means everything to me to be of service to my friends and neighbors, especially in those times when they are most in need of a friendly face,” says Melissa.

When not at work, Melissa can be found in the mountains on her bike or hiking with friends and family.
